Tax Filing Deadline Extended to July 15, 2020

At the direction of President Donald Trump, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin announced today that the U.S. will extend the national income tax filing deadline until July 15, 2020.

This will extend individual and business income tax returns due April 15, 2020 to July 15, 2020. The 90 day extension will give taxpayers the additional time needed to file returns and make payments without interest or penalties. The extension was announced in response to the financial fallout from the coronavirus pandemic.

Mnuchin urges taxpayers who might receive refunds this year to file NOW to get their money.
