Press Release - Promotion of Tom Zoebelein, CPA to Director of Tax Research

tomBirmingham, AL- February 4, 2016- Pearce, Bevill, Leesburg, Moore P.C. is pleased to announce that Thomas C. Zoebelein, CPA, MBA, CGMA has been promoted to Director of Tax Research. Tom blends 28 years of industry experience with sixteen years of public accounting experience. Tom is active in several accounting and business organizations including serving on the state and federal tax committees for the Business Council of Alabama and Chairing the ASCPA State Tax Committee for the past five years. He has authored several articles on taxation that have been published in the Tuscaloosa Business Ink and the Birmingham Business Journal. Additionally, he writes quarterly tax articles for the Alabama Society of CPAs. While in industry, Tom served on national tax committees for the American Forestry Pulp and Paper Association, American Mining Congress, National Coal Association, and the American Textile Manufacturers Association. These groups work closely with Congress on federal tax policies affecting their industries. “Tom is a tax consultant within our firm serving as a resource to our CPAs and the clients we serve,” said Steve Moore, Managing Shareholder. “Tom brings the knowledge and experience that is tailored to our client’s needs for compliance, but is also a problem solver when our clients are dealing with substantial tax issues.” Tom joined the firm in 2004. He holds an undergraduate degree in accounting from Villanova University and a master’s degree in accounting taxation from Iona College. Tom is a licensed CPA holding certificates in both Alabama and South Carolina.
